first song: Alien Blues current favorites: Oulala, PETTY CRIME (please just go listen to it), and Alien Blues, of course The show started off with a bang. No, literally, the openers (@pons_the_band) immediately set the fire alarm off. The crowd of 525 people (i'm assuming, since that's capacity and Vundabar sold out both Cambridge shows) patiently waited outside of The Sinclair as police and firefighters checked out the building. It was kind of cold and I felt silly standing there alone, but everyone, even the scariest looking fans at any show I'd ever seen, had nothing but smiles on their faces and only positive things to say. Everyone here is so cool , I thought. What the fuck am I doing here ? We all rushed back inside as soon as we could and Pons finished their set in such a way that I knew someone in this crowd really must've hit the alarm themselves or something, because my GOD  these motherfuckers knew how to perform! Are they rockstars? Is their music techno? ...

first song: Roland current favorite(s): C'mere, Evil, All The Rage Back Home, and most importantly: REST MY CHEMISTRY. i could write a fucking essay on that one. you've got no fear for the underdog...that's why you will not survive.  so true, Spoon. but first, let's talk opener. actually, let's talk about Bold Point Park and the island of misfit toys that gathered there. i was actually surprised to see a shit ton of small children there, but then a quick google search let me know that Interpol is actually older than i am and it totally makes sense why the crowd was a bunch of young, cooler looking parents. also a lot of people in their 40's and 50's. i felt a little awkward standing in the field in front of the stage by myself, but it was fine. it's easy to blend in with a few thousand people. Water From Your Eyes (cool name, huh?) opened the show. i missed most of their set because i was trying to buy some Interpol merch, but they ended their set by pla...

first song i ever heard: everything is my fault current favorite: demon to lean on i showed up right when the doors opened at 8 PM because my inner teen would've beat the shit out of me if i wasn't being squished onto the stage at this show. which is why i was surprised to see two major lines already waiting by the entrance. within a few hours, i'd know why. the crowd was exactly what i hoped for: a room of adults who looked like they didn't have a lot of friends growing up. and i mean that in the best way possible. no, really. a group of men asked me, with no intro or anything, "how did you find out about Wavves?" to which i responded: "i didn't have a lot of friends growing up." they laughed, nodded in agreement, and cleared a path for me to get to the front. (thanks for that). there i was standing in a sea of fully-tattooed bodies sporting vintage t-shirts and funky footwear. aside from three girls i'd gone to middle school with, every fan...
